Just four more days to go until Christmas – where on earth has this year gone?! Are you ready for the big day? What are your plans? As usual we’ll be spending it split between both of our families, hoping to fit in some quality time which each side, and making the most of some time off.
How has 2012 been for you? I’d have a pretty decent year, with the good firmly outweighing the bad, for which I’m truly grateful. I’ve learned a lot more about human nature, that making mistakes can often be a good thing, that I should go with my gut instinct when it comes to people and that I’m fortunate to have some incredible friends and family. I have my health, as do my family, and long may that continue. My husband makes the world a better place and I love him more than gin. Which is a lot.
Whilst I’ve survived 2012 relatively unscathed, I’ve witnessed some friends and acquaintances deal with unfathomably sad losses and stresses. I think of them often and I hope that 2013 brings them happiness and fulfilment.
Happy Christmas from the Stork!
Day by day this site is growing in content and I’m so pleased to have been able to bring you a wide range of subjects including premature birth, fertility problems, domestic violence and pregnancy alongside regular food, diet and fashion posts.
There are some excellent things lined up already for the new year including some beautiful nurseries, more competitions and lots of real life stories. Our regular contributors will be back and I’ll be bringing you news of the first baby born to one of our contributors, Hayley – he’s absolutely gorgeous and I can’t wait to share it with you!
If you’ve got a post that you want to submit, a product you’d like me to consider featuring, or a subject you’d like to see covered, please do get in touch. There’s always room for more of you wanting to write about your fertility and pregnancy journeys. I am happy to publish submissions under a pseudonym or as an anonymous contributor as seen here, although we’ll be unveiling her identity in the new year, so exciting!
In the meantime, I wanted to say a huge thank you to all of you who’ve taken the time to come over to Riding the Stork and support my new venture. I’m so grateful to you all. Whether you’ve written something for me, taken the time to comment, let me use your photographs or simply just read through the things posted, thank you. It wouldn’t be the place it is without you.
There’ll be a post or two over the next week and a bit but I wanted to take this time to wish you a very Merry Christmas and a happy and healthy new year. I hope it is everything you wish for.
